Roots, Rochelle. "Taking Charge of Your Life." In Living It Up!, 73-75. Xulon Press, 2009.

In this book, Rochelle Roots talks about planning your long-term goals from a Christian point of view but her tips can be applied to everyone. She believes in praying to God about your goals but anyone else can talk to their loved ones about their goals as verbalizing your goals outlaid can motivate you to put them into action. She also suggests planning what and when your long term goals are, they can be in the next 2 years or the next 20 years. Writing down your goals is also a good way to achieve them as you can visually see what needs to be done. But she suggests that when writing your goals down to be super specific for example do not just write that you want to spend more time with family, but that you will have dinner with them at least 5 times a week. Lastly, she stresses how important it is to not give up and that it will take time to achieve your goals.
